How you make a difference

The Patient Advocate Administrator is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of patient advocacy and community outreach programs. This includes organizing community presentations, hospital tours, and fundraising events. They are also responsible for promptly investigating grievances, reviewing trends, and submitting reports to the governing board on a quarterly basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chairs and staffs the Family Advisory Committee and Resident President Meeting, serving as the main hospital contact for families and facilitating issue resolution among interested parties.

  • Represents the hospital at community meetings, and participates in hospital committees as assigned.

  • Trains new employees in patient rights, including confidentiality, and reviews patient rights and responsibilities with newly admitted patients.

  • Receives and reviews patient concerns, developing recommendations for corrective actions if necessary, and discussing recommendations or administrative resolutions with patients involved in an issue.

  • Reviews all restraints and seclusions related to patients' rights issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a mental health setting in an advocacy role.

Licenses/Certifications

  • None required.
