Based in California and Minnesota, the Structural Heart business of Abbott has a global presence with regional headquarters and manufacturing plants all over the world, representing over 5,000 employees worldwide. Our business is divided into the following product franchises: Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Interventions (TMTI), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), Structural Interventions—which consists of Stroke Risk Reduction and Congenital Heart Disease and, Cardiac Surgery.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serves as the strategic HR partner to the Business. Leverages HR consulting skills to help their business clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization.

  • Balances short term needs / tactics with long term strategies; calibrates needs of the US Commercial organizations with the broader global business.

  • Aligns human resources initiatives and resources to deliver against business strategies and operational plans.

  • In partnership with the divisional vice president and leadership team, develops and implements a talent plan that ensures the organization has the right talent to deliver on financial commitments, consistent team performance and a sustainable talent bench.

  • Brings thought leadership and experience to change management initiatives in the business.

  • Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR services for the respective client group.

  • Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from Area BHR, Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet and exceed business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience leading HR commercial initiatives and programs

  • 5 years of experience with talent management, employee relations and compensation/benefits programs

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting medical devices/diagnostics organizations preferred

  • Experience working in a matrix HR environment

  • Experience with organization culture change initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with management to achieve both HR and business objectives

  • Understanding of key business and financial drivers and demonstrated strong delivery of HR results

  • Role to be based in Santa Clara or Minnesota

The base pay for this position is $147,300.00 – $294,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
