ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Crew Member is responsible for assisting with various tasks. Thispositionis designed to provide opportunities to hone customer service skills, team development, and foster professional growth.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

Reporting to the Location Manager, this position will assist in various areas of the brewpub operations with a focus on ensuring high quality food and services are delivered in a cost-effective manner to its customers. Workers will be afforded a paid hands on experience in a live brewpub operation, including cash handling and accounting, inventory management, food production, sanitation, customer service, marketing, brewery operations, and special events coordination.

To perform this job successfully, the crew member will be responsible for ensuring every meal served is of the highest quality. A few duties are ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment. Following all COVID safety regulations to keep everyone safe. Prepare all food such as food preparation, pizza, salad and sandwiches. Keeping all work stations such as food line, kitchen and dish pit clean and orderly manner. Crew member must be willing to learn about craft beer. Physical requirements include standing and walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; correct hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; reaching; lifting and moving objects. Candidate should be able and willing to lift at least 25+lbs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • ServSafe Food certification required within 30 days of hire, and ServSafe Alcohol, TIPS, or other alcohol service certification recognized by the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Board prior to starting work.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and/or weekends.
  • Employees are required to provide a minimum of 8 hours of availability to work weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday) for the duration of their employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.

The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship.
