Missouri State Job Bank YouthBuild Job Developer Case Manager in PORTAGEVILLE, Missouri

Summary: This position supports the work of DAEOC, a community action agency committed to empowering people to make positive change. The YouthBuild Job Development Case Manager oversees the success of YouthBuild program participants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned: Register program participants in DAEOCs Apprenticeship Program. Create an employment plan or goal for each program participant. Assist program participants with employment applications and interview preparation for employment. Continuously track the program participant progress and follow up after completion. Recruit participants for the YouthBuild program. Answer questions and/or discuss classroom issues involving attendance or behavior, offer guidance for successful worksite performance and future employment. Provide continuous support and guidance for program participants. Supervisory Responsibilities: This is not a supervisory position. Associate's degree in business, human resources management or education is preferred. Experience in adult education is desirable. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, evaluations, etc. Ability to effectively present informatio and respond to questions from staff and clients. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest/penalties, proportions/percentages, household bills, budgets, etc. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to solve problems for clients with limited knowledge of their total situation. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software as well as the Community Action IA software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a driver's license valid in the State of Missouri and transportation as necessary. Other Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to empathize with and understand the needs of DAEOC clientele. Must have knowledge of living and working conditions in the six-county area of Southeast Missouri as they relate to DAEOC clients. Must have the ability to research and analyze information for successful grant writing. Other Qualifications: Must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings. Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis.
