Summary:

The Centralized Staffing Services Department's main responsibility is to provide adequate staffing and scheduling across the system. This role is responsible for the direction, education, and performance of the staffing office personnel and supports the functions of the centralized staffing services (CSS) office.

Responsibilities:

*Essential Responsibilities: *

  1. Oversees the CSS office operations to resolve problems, instruct staff and utilize feedback from nursing leadership to improve the CSS processes.

  2. Tracks and reports staffing data to provide measurements and help determine outcomes as directed.

  3. Addresses acute workflow problems and works to continuously improve processes.

a. Reviews all staffing and scheduling discrepancies and monitors for accuracy, providing intervention as necessary.

  1. Ensures that the policies, procedures, and processes for the CSS and float pool are current and in compliance with the system policies and procedures.

  2. Provides mentoring, coaching, and feedback and fosters teamwork in a positive work environment to achieve quality services with a high level of employee engagement. Values and supports diversity.

  3. Re-enforces the importance of established training requirements and ensures that all team members meet all of their training requirements within established timelines.

  4. Leads and is accountable for reaching departmental goals. Supports the Director in reaching identified strategic growth targets.

  5. Develop, build, and maintain computer systems to achieve accurate information on staff members' competencies and licensure, performance such as attendance and overtime utilization, staffing, and scheduling efficacy.

  6. Assists the Senior Director with annual budget preparation and manages within budget parameters.

  7. Facilitates interdisciplinary and interdepartmental communication for effective operations.

  8. Ensures that required resources are available to meet staffing requirements; works to minimize the use of more expensive resources (such as double-time, sitters, etc.).

  9. Coordinates and develops monthly schedules for the CSS administrative staff.

  10. Assess daily staffing and scheduling needs and adjust staffing numbers as needed.

  11. Partners with the Senior Director to complete performance appraisals for the nursing team (directly related to the department) and the CSS administrative staff.

  12. Monitors the effectiveness of employees� customer service relations and behaviors and provides feedback in a timely and constructive manner.
