Responsibilities Sorting, and retreving items from an automated light tree carousel storage system. Receives, reviews, and processes various types of publication orders. Reviews orders, makes necessary annotation and encloses correct explanatory note as required for each type of order processed. Notifies supervisor or senior supply technician when stock needs to be ordered. Sorts out foreign orders in accordance with specifications set forth by various organization customers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG -2005-5, you must meet the following requirements: This position contains a Selective Placement Factor. A Selective Placement Factor requires: the Ability , Skills, and Knowledge, and/ or other work characteristics basic to and essential for satisfactory performance of this position. Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment or placement and represent minimum requirements for a position. Selective Placement Factor 1: Demonstrate the ability to : Use an automated Light Rail Carousel with warehouse applications and an ordering tracking system to facilitate order management from initial acceptance through final shipment. Enter data for orders addresses into computer database. Performs quality control checks on batch sheets and other paperwork in relation to United States Postal Service and United Parcel Service Case files prior to forwarding to Support Services Unit. Sorts out foreign orders in accordance with specification set forth by various agency customers, United States Postal Service directives and job requirements. Meters packages in accordance with United States Postal Service or United Parcel Service regulations, using either a manual method or with the aid or electronic scales. Downloads and Fulfillment of orders using the Light Rail Carousel and software.NOTE: You must clearly address the selective placment factor in your resume. For the position of the Supply Technicial PG-05, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-04 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: 1) Sorting, and retrieving items from a an automated light tree carousel storage system. 2) Able to use bar code and compture technology for issuance of stock; 3) Meters packages in accordance with the United States Post Office or United Parcel Service regulations, using either a manual method or with the aid of electronic scales; 4) Prints batch sheets from Inventory Control Module (ICM) and Determines and performs what action is necessary if the order cannot be completed, e.g., special request, exhausts, refunds, and return order to the customer service section. TO QUALIFY FOR GS-5: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:Successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study directly related to the position; OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Background Investigation: For a Suitability: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
