About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Director of QDI (Quantitative Data Intelligence) the Data Science Manager will lead a dynamic data science team, steering both the strategic and technical aspects of data-driven projects. This role will aim to leverage big data to inform decision-making and drive innovation using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) tools. This strategic role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of data systems and leading the team towards achieving excellence using AI and ML for data measure management/analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of AI & ML analysis, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Develop and execute a data strategy and integrated roadmap that aligns with organizational goals, including data collection, integration, and structuring processes.

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of robust, scalable data tools and pipelines.

  • Ensure data quality and consistency across various data sources and systems, implementing best practices in data management.

  • Partner and collaborate and influencing with the Business cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and IT specialists, to support data-driven projects and initiatives.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in data technology, applying new techniques and tools to enhance data capabilities.

  • Communicate data strategies and insights effectively to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of data science projects.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision with an ownership mindset.

  • Developing and optimizing repeatable internal reporting.

  • Partnering with the business and development team to create and execute clear, complete, accurate reporting for different workstreams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience, 5+ years in data science, AI & ML, with a track record of managing data teams and projects.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving their goals.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally in matrix managed organization.

  • Acting as liaison between business units and technology solutions.

  • Building a strong working knowledge of internal data infrastructure, architecture, and processes.

  • Excellent data management and analytic skills to assemble, clean and analyse data effectively from multiple systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have a positive/proactive attitude and be a strong team player.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in cloud computing environments (Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL, ETL, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding of SaaS models.

  • Experience with SAP systems (ECC, S4 HANA).

  • Proficiency in programming languages and experience with SQL & Tableau databases.

  • Strong technical expertise in data modelling, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.

  • Knowledge of digital twin technologies and their application in industrial contexts.

  • Background in industrial automation, IoT, or related fields.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
