Cummins Inc. Junior Manager – Obsolescence in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legacy Parts Obsolescence: Manage obsolescence requests and update statuses in Windchill/Oracle databases.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-business teams on obsolescence requests.

  • Compliance: Keep records to comply with ISO and OE audit procedures.

  • Data Management: Maintain and present data in monthly/weekly forums to leadership teams.

  • Change Management: Handle part release and supersession in Oracle systems and manage technical queries.

  • Single Point of Contact: Act as the single point of contact for aftermarket new part releases and analyze parts affected by aftermarket business.

  • Scorecard Maintenance: Maintain a monthly scorecard.

  • Team Coordination: Ensure smooth functioning of processes through coordination with cross-functional teams.

  • Goal Achievement: Work closely with teammates to achieve organizational goals.

  • Product Specification Management: Analyze and process data into appropriate engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and services systems. Release and/or maintain Cummins product specification documents.

  • Product Requirements Development: Provide input into the development of product requirements and other relevant standards and rules for documenting Cummins products specifications.

  • Auditing: Apply Product Release standards for auditing purposes and ensure clear, concise, and valid product requirements through the change management process.

  • Improvement Projects: Participate in basic improvement projects linked to product requirements and related change management processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windchill, ORACLE, and related Information Management Systems.

  • Basic engine and genset domain knowledge, including critical parts and sub-assemblies.

  • Knowledge of obsolescence processes and Cummins Engineering Change management processes.

  • Understanding of release processes and engineering changes of parts (i.e., part obsolescence/supersession).

  • Query resolution support to customers, end-users, distributors, and dealers.

  • Ownership of engineering activities and providing end-to-end solutions.

  • System-based knowledge and related process flow.

  • Proficiency in basic and advanced Excel, PowerPoint presentations, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in documentation and control, engineering discipline or related field.

Education: High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience is required.

Licensing: This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
