Gersh Autism Admissions Coordinator in Queens, New York
The primary function of this role is to help grow enrollment by facilitating and managing the admissions process for our NY locations and programs (Queens / Brooklyn / Long Island City), from point of inquiry through enrollment. This position is on site, has significant interaction with prospective families, faculty, staff, and external constituents such as special education attorneys, educational consultants, State agencies and School Districts.
Main Responsibilities:
As first point of contact, convey the school’s mission, and explain our programs, curriculum and admission process to prospective families and external constituents
Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and follow up as necessary
Gather, manage, input, and maintain admission and contractual documents and records in our database, ensuring the files are complete, accurate and up to date
Schedule and organize visits and student observations on site
As appropriate, guide parents and constituents through the legal and tuition funding processes
In collaboration with the Director of Admissions and Principals, analyze student admissions files and make recommendation for placement
With strong attention to details, issue admission and legal documents for enrollment
Respond to legal requests
Help Prepare weekly statistics regarding all admission activities
Coordinate re-enrollment activities with constant monitoring of attrition and retention
Coordinate and participate in all recruitment efforts – open houses, fairs, events, etc.
Support the development of enrollment materials and marketing strategy
Support our Finance and Leal departments as it relates to Enrollment
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Admission
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience
A strong belief in and ability to articulate Gersh mission
3+ years of experience in an admission function in an educational setting
Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum or special education preferred
Experience working with external constituencies such school districts or Special Education attorneys a plus
