Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a non-profit Sr. Accountant in Reading, Pennsylvania. As part of our team, your responsibilities will predominantly revolve around the management and reconciliation of financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. You will work within the industry, utilizing your skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations, accurately recording all transactions and addressing discrepancies promptly.

• Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash, investments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and endowment funds.

• Collaborate with grant managers and endowment officers to ensure the correct recording of grant revenue, restricted donations, and endowment distributions.

• Prepare and review financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for external auditors, ensuring adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and endowment reporting practices.

• Ensure the proper recording and tracking of endowment contributions, earnings, and expenditures while complying with donor restrictions and company policies.

• Monitor and reconcile restricted funds to ensure compliance with grant agreements and endowment fund guidelines.

• Maintain accurate records for all accounting transactions related to endowments, grants, and other restricted funds.

• Stay informed about accounting regulations, best practices, and nonprofit-specific accounting standards.

• Assist with year-end closing processes and preparation of annual financial statements, focusing particularly on endowment and restricted fund activities

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.

• Must have experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is necessary.

• Must be able to manage and maintain General Ledger.

• Must have the ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.

• Experience in Month End Close processes is required.
