Microsoft Corporation has the following job opportunity:

 

Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software.  Plan, architect, deploy and/or support complex client/server or base software systems.  Execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate?company email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems. Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security?and determine next steps, including potential escalations.? May develop and implement automation of security process and procedure, and translate security policy into effective controls.  Respond to security incidents, conduct threat intelligence and analysis, and use data analytics to drive security decisions.  Conduct and support operations or improve security posture.  Maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption protocols.?Administer security policies to control access to systems. Identify risks to the M365 business and customers. Investigate and respond to issues, extract learnings from incidents, and partner with peers to improve prevention, detection, and response mechanisms. Lead and coordinate the response and recovery activities from information security incidents, and manage function-related business processes. Collaborate with researchers, coordinators, and engineers to improve, protection, detection, and response capabilities of the products. Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from any location in U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.

 

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, Information Systems, Computer Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

     

  • EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response.

     

  • SPECIFIC SKILLS: This position requires at least 24 months of experience in: Cyber Security incident responder; 12 months of experience in: SOC; Reporting; and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) foundation; 6 months of experience in: Post Incident Response coordination; and Product and service security improvement coordination; and education or experience in: Azure.

Pay Range and Benefits Information:  The offered base pay range for this specific position (Job Code: TSKCG18215), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.), is $190,866 to $220,866.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
