Responsibilities

The Vulnerability Management Senior Analyst (Sr. Analyst - Technology) will be focused on the operations of the threat and vulnerability management program within the Cyber Security team. Knowledge of system services, operating systems, networks and applications from a security perspective is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating vulnerability management solutions, breach and attack simulations and related security testing. Augmentation and development of procedures related to the operation of the solutions, performing risk evaluations of vulnerabilities, and providing technical support for teams performing remediation efforts. They will articulate and distill information into reports to various audiences including remediation teams, leadership, and business owners, as well as track and report on past remediation efforts to identify and help facilitate positive trending. They will also work with internal teams to identify, analyze, and share correlated and enriched vulnerability information to assist incident response and threat detection, allowing efficient and improved time to action.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing and maintaining a robust vulnerability management program designed to protect information system assets from insecure configurations and absent software patches, including: conducting regular vulnerability scans of enterprise resources to detect the presence of vulnerabilities

  • Help align the Threat and Vulnerability Management program towards the goals of the overall security program roadmap and timelines

  • Configure and operate the infrastructure vulnerability management scanning tool(s) for the full suite of functions, including network, host and web application vulnerability assessments

  • Provide technical input of the vulnerability management solutions

  • Provide technical input of identified vulnerabilities, including vulnerability research and analysis

  • Develop procedures related to the operation and continuous improvement of the vulnerability management solutions

  • Assist with the continual improvement and innovation in the vulnerability management process

  • Assist with the remediation process of identified vulnerabilities

  • Assist with reports demonstrating regular vulnerability scanning and vulnerability remediation statistics

  • Perform ad-hoc vulnerability scan requests as necessary

  • Perform other essential vulnerability management oriented duties as assigned

  • Configure and operate breach and attack simulation scenarios, including additional security testing as needed.

  • Supports security reviews/audits/vulnerability risk assessments of network environments by providing guidance and remediation recommendations & activities

  • Proactively keeps management team informed of trends, possible problems, latest pertinent vulnerabilities and any other information that will help them to stay in front of any potential cybersecurity related events

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Skills and Work Experience:

  • 3 years of IT and/or Information Security experience preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and an acute attention to detail

  • Intermediate proficiency in vulnerability management/scanning platforms and tools needed for collecting information for analysis

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner

  • Knowledge of the technical aspects associated with external IT threats and vulnerabilities

  • Knowledge of the security concerns facing large enterprises

  • Analytical, information-gathering and problem-solving skills

  • CISSP, CEH or other technical security certifications preferred

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
