SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for initiating all duties associated with the processing of payments, denials or correspondence from insurance payors and patients in compliance with Renown policies.This position analyzes payments for identification of the appropriate patient account and to apply the payment and denial, along with any applicable contractual allowance to that account.Corrections to patient account balances and transfers of balances between accounts are also a part of this analysis.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Experience: Requires one year of general business office or cash handling experience.Math skills must be accurate and consistent and can operate 10-key by touch. Computer/Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days,the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

This position is responsible for processing all insurance payor and patient payments and denials, along with corresponding adjustments to reflect an accurate balance on patient accounts, while supporting effective management of accounts receivable.

The challenges of this position are interpreting the numerous and varied insurance payment remittances; accurate and timely researching and reconciling of payments and adjustments.

The position may be responsible for making decisions regarding application of payments and adjustments to patient accounts and the coding of payments and adjustments on all daily transactions, except those that need special consideration.
