ICF Communications Associate, Transportation in Reston, Virginia

We’re currently hiring for a Communications Associate to support our growing federal transportation communications and marketing work, that is passionate about planning, developing, and implementing successful communication and engagement strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 3 years of professional marketing communications experience looking forward to building a long-term career.

As a Communications Associate , you will:

  • Contribute to the development of communications plans and strategies to meet client objectives and goals

  • Interact and collaborate with team members, and clients through written communications, meetings, and collaborative work platforms

  • Manage the development of creative materials, working in coordination with our Creative Studio’s designers, editors, internal program team, and clients on a variety of products including newsletters, fact sheets, videos, case studies, social media content, emails, and websites

  • Coordinate project workflows, deliverable trackers, timelines, progress reports, and meeting materials.

  • Provide support, coordination and development of strategic plans and presentations

  • Support planning and executing events, meetings, and workshops

  • Manage multiple deliverables at once, with varying deadlines using Microsoft Office and other collaboration tools including Teams, Trello, Sharepoint, SmartSheets, etc.

As Communications Specialist , you will have:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, required (e.g., communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or related field)

  • 3+ years of professional marketing communications experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Transportation communications or marketing experience

  • Previous federal experience in an agency setting

Professional Skills

  • Knowledge of traditional and social media environments; understanding of various communication channels and how they work (print, social, digital, paid media, events and outreach, direct response, etc.)

  • An understanding of email management systems, email content strategy and analytics, and email platforms such as GovDelivery, MailChimp, Constant Contact, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Energetic, self-starter, and resourceful problem solver with a demonstrated can-do attitude and willingness to jump in where needed

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

  • Excellent writing skills; ability to provide writing sample

  • Strong team orientation with a focus on collaboration

  • Responsive and open to feedback

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

  • Creative thinker with innovative approach to problem solving

  • Knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics

  • Willingness for moderate travel as needed

Job Location(s): The ideal individual will be based in the Reston, VA office, in a hybrid work environment. However, we are open to considering remote based candidates throughout the United States.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$52,488.00 - $89,230.00
