Microsoft Corporation Principal Product Manager in Reston, Virginia

As a Principal Product Manager, you will bring your deep knowledge of Federal government accreditation and authorization, technical acumen and deep compliance knowledge to discussions with members of theFederal Risk and Authorization Management Program.( FedRAMP) Program Management Office ( PMO), technical reviewers and federal agency AOs (authorizing officials). You will partner with our larger federal compliance team and our 3PAO (Third party assessment organization) to deliver our security authorization package and educate customers on how M365 runs on trust as part of our foundational engineering patterns and practices.

As a member of the M365 US Federal Compliance team, your primary focus will be successfully developing and delivering our FedRAMP authorization materials to our US government stakeholders across our sponsoring agencies and FedRAMP PMO. You will collaborate closely with our counterparts in Azure compliance on shared goals across the government sector.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the accreditation effort for M365 FedRAMP package with US government stakeholders, internal partners and the FedRAMP PMO.

  • Lead customer engagements with US government stakeholders.

  • Represent our trusted, compliant M365 SaaS offerings to government customers and stakeholders.

  • Establish a successful engagement model to educate and collaborate with US decision makers on the M365 compliance package.

  • Coordinate audit and customer deliverables to support the authorization project and strategy.

  • Participate in advisory positions to influence government cloud strategy and partner with policy makers to evolve cloud compliance.

  • Coordinate with the larger federal compliance team to optimize our customer deliverables and audit operations.Other

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years' experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmento OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years' of experience in performing and/or participating in technical assessments in direct support of a major FedRAMP compliance effort within a Cloud Service Provider or within a government at a higher level and experience with a FedRAMP accreditation.

  • 3+ years' of experience in developing, reviewing, updating system documentation in support of an Authorization to Operate.

  • Citizenship Verification : This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.   • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Candidates selected for this position may need to comply with Federal Executive Order 14042 mandating that federal contractors and subcontractors receive the COVID-19 vaccine by being fully vaccinated before their date of hire, or work with Microsoft to receive an approved religious or medical accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Prior experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other US accreditation.

  • Experience with compliance in a hyperscale cloud environment.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
