Robert Half Procurement Specialist in Reston, Virginia

Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous Procurement Specialist to join our team in Reston, Virginia. This position plays a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on the creation and processing of purchase orders, maintaining documentation related to purchases and contracts, and coordinating with various stakeholders and vendors. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Creating and processing purchase orders, ensuring all the related documentation is up-to-date.

• Meeting with internal business stakeholders to understand project needs and provide procurement advice.

• Reviewing procurement intake forms and budgets to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

• Requesting quotes from vendors and diligently following up.

• Drafting contract documentation for purchases and coordinating with vendors as well as legal and other teams.

• Providing onboarding documents to vendors and coordinating with the Accounts Payable department.

• Approving and creating purchase requests in a timely manner.

• Maintaining digital and physical documents related to procurement in an organized manner.

• Maintaining the contract database, ensuring all information is current and accurate.

• Utilizing skills in Microsoft Excel, Customer Service, Documentation, Invoice Processing, Corporate Procurement, Analysis, File Maintenance, Purchase Orders, SAP, and MS Office to execute job functions effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a procurement role or similar

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the rest of the MS Office suite

• Experience with SAP or similar procurement software

• Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus on building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Ability to create and manage purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner

• Strong skills in maintaining files and documentation related to procurement activities

• Ability to conduct analysis on supplier performance and procurement trends

• Experience in working with invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment

• Knowledge of corporate procurement policies and procedures

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
