The Trauma Program Manager works in concert with the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director to assure optimal trauma patient care services, quality outcomes, and compliance with local, state, and national standards for Trauma Center designation and verification. The Trauma Program Manager continually strives to achieve successful outcomes for all care associated with the trauma service, and works closely with the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director to assure compliance with the American College of Surgeons and VDH OEMS trauma standards pertaining to performance improvement.

What you will do in this role:

Coordinates, develops, plans, and evaluates activities of the performance improvement and patient safety plan in collaboration with the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director.

Monitors clinical processes, outcomes, and system issues related to the quality of care provided. Develops quality filters, audits, and completes patient case reviews to identify trends and events.

Serves as a clinical resource in the mission of providing optimal trauma care, as defined by the American College of Surgeons Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.

Demonstrates outstanding trauma patient advocacy through the use of data and informational findings to develop measurable patient care initiatives.

Actively participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of corrective action plans for identified opportunities for improvement. Monitors and mitigates for future events.

Works closely with the trauma registry team and is responsible for implementation of processes to ensure validity of data in the trauma registry.

Leads in development and implementation of changes to the trauma registry that facilitate performance improvement activities and key performance indicator trend reports.

Ensures trauma patients receive a continuum of optimal care within the context of the American College of Surgeons Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient Guidelines, Joint Commission Standards, and hospital policy and procedures.

Acts as an agent for the Trauma Program Director to assure compliance with regional, state, and national trauma statutes and regulations.

Maintains all forms of patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPPA.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

This position requires you to be in the office 5 days week.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing - required

Master’s Degree in Nursing or related health field - preferred

4+ years of experience in a trauma ICU or ED at a designated Trauma Center

Experience in Quality/Performance Improvement

Experience in Project Management
