Amentum Operations Supervisor - Shift in Richland, Washington
The Operations Supervisor is a line supervisor responsible for the safe conduct of assigned facility activities. This individual is qualified in accordance with facility training requirements to operate facility processes and will direct operations staff in the performance of their duties. The Operations Supervisor takes direction from the Control Room Supervisor. The Operations Supervisor may be directly responsible for coordinating operations activities within the assigned areas. This individual performs complex assignments within approved schedules and budgets. This position is expected to utilize independent decision-making regarding resolution of problems. This position may coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
Demonstrate an understanding system design and operation, including environmental, safety, and health aspects and regulatory conformance through completion of assigned operations management qualification
Complete required training and maintain qualifications associated with assignments
Support operations, maintenance, and commissioning of the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) Facilities
Remain apprised of operational status and ongoing modification activities
Develop facility related procedures and work instructions
Develop facility related training materials and support training implementation
Develop lock out tag out permits
Facilitate field implementation of project lock out tagout permits
Direct field activities and utilization of project resources (personnel & materials)
Supervise assigned personnel in the completion of complex work
Review Project design and other documents for, maintenance and testing impacts, repair methods and provide comments within area of expertise
Identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions
Ensures timely and accurate oral and written technical reports on assigned activities
Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

Ensure all activities are performed safely and within the limits of applicable permits and licenses, the documented safety analysis, and applicable technical safety requirements to include releases of radioactive, hazardous, or mixed wastes
Ensuring the standards set by the conduct of operations procedures are upheld in the planning and performance of all activities
Conduct concise, informative briefings which establish goals and priorities for the assigned activities
Communicate with other support organizations to ensure activities are started and completed as scheduled
Make timely, informative notifications when required by facility events and procedures
Take emergency action as necessary to prevent or mitigate the consequences of an abnormal event and placing the facility in a safe, stable condition following the event
Provide clear, concise instructions to operations staff or support personnel and require them to “repeat back” their understanding of the instructions
Perform activities and meet the goals and objectives established by the facility management organization
Maintain a broad perspective of operational conditions affecting the safety of the assigned activities as a matter of highest priority
Stop any individual from bypassing or overruling their operational judgment without bringing the matter to the attention of higher line operational authority
Avoid becoming involved in any single operation which may cause distractions when multiple activities are required
Ensure the correct implementation of the requirements of the conduct of operations procedures in performance of facility activities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will supervise assigned personnel, and includes assigning complex work, setting work priorities, and evaluating and training them.
Identify housekeeping and facility material condition deficiencies to the appropriate organization(s) for corrective action
Maintain awareness of the facility status and ensuring that facility equipment, including equipment operated by others in support facility operations, is operated in accordance with written and approved procedures
Responsible for the performance of personnel assigned
Support initial investigation of abnormal events, including the quarantine of equipment and systems as necessary
Perform periodic tours of the assigned areas to observe activities and ensure they are being performed safely and in accordance with approved procedures
Maintain overall authority and responsibility for the direction and control of assign activities including those conducted by supporting groups and on-job-the-training (OJT) activities
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in engineering or science or equivalent education desired. Associates Degree in engineering or science may be substituted for two years of experience.
Experience:
3 years of Nuclear Facility experience required per DOE O 426.2. Nuclear Experience when used in reference to Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities, is experience acquired at any facility in which radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized. This may include non-reactor nuclear facilities, commercial nuclear facilities, test or experimental reactor facilities, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program facilities or platforms.
Experience in design, construction, and operational training may be considered applicable nuclear experience and must be evaluated on a case-by-case and approved.
Full-time related academic training may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for 2 of the 3 years’ nuclear experience.)
(Desired) Demonstrated knowledge of DOE operating policies, rules and regulations, or knowledge of commercial nuclear facilities (e.g. NRC/INPO) regulations and requirements, and knowledge of industry codes and standards in the area of expertise desired.
Experience with implementation of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 highly desired. Shift Operations in a DOE production facility or High Hazard facility, including working knowledge of Conduct of Operations highly preferred.

Occasional lifting or transport of items to from desk and printing stations
Secondary Job Classification Essential Functions:
Oversee field activities inside and outside posted/barricaded hazardous/contaminated areas e.g., radiological, chemical, etc., through inspections, observations, coaching, which require walking, climbing, descending, crouching, standing, bending, twisting and turning along with wearing personnel protective equipment while carrying an assortment of small items (e.g. flashlight, procedures, tablet or notebook, etc.)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $115,543.99 - $182,530.01 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and selected candidate must be willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule, 4 days on / 4 days off, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
