Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the approved, designated Registered Nurse preceptor, the Student Nurse strives for excellence in the performance of care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills. Centered on the patient as a whole person - body, mind and spirit - applies principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences. Applies nursing process and acquired nursing skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary and culturally appropriate patient care in keeping with a focus on healing wellness. Incorporates established practice guidelines and regulatory standards, concurrently evaluating opportunities to improve patient's outcomes. The Student Nurse may not perform independently: All functions/actions must be performed under the direction and direct supervision of a RN (Registered Nurse) preceptor.
Qualifications
- Student Nurse must be a senior level student in a school of nursing (BSN or Ad) with a contractual agreement between the school and Baptist Health Richmond
- Successful completion of clinical coursework to reach senior level standing as determined by an accredited school of nursing
