Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk, located in Richmond, Virginia. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, your role will encompass a variety of tasks, including handling invoice issues, assisting with vendor inquiries, and providing customer service support. You will also engage in basic accounting functions to ensure the accuracy of vendor profile data and account balances.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver customer service support to both internal and external customers, addressing vendor setup, payment methods, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Research and resolve issues related to invoices, payment statuses, and vendor inquiries.
• Carry out basic accounting tasks to maintain the accuracy of transactions and account balances, including vendor setup, recording payment cancellations, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Contribute to general ledger close activities and record journal entries as required.
• Offer support for special projects as needed, while also acting as a subject matter expert for business initiatives.
• Share knowledge with team members, train new employees, and contribute ideas for process improvements.
• Ensure the accuracy of vendor profile data by performing regular checks and maintenance.
• Resolve any debit balance issues and make necessary voucher corrections.
Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills are required to handle queries and build relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets.
• Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Should possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a high school diploma; a degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting software, apart from Excel, is a plus.
• Must adhere to strict deadlines and have a results-driven approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Should be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
