We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

This position can be located in Richmond, Virginia or Cayce, South Carolina.

This role specifically serves as the strategic lead for Succession Management and Competency Management at Dominion Energy. Specific job responsibilities include the following:

  • Facilitates change initiatives, process changes, and cultural change efforts to effectively integrate human resources with the organization's strategy, its structures and systems, and the processes by which work and goals are accomplished for improved organizational performance.

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates corporate wide human resources policy guidelines, programs, and processes and monitors effectiveness to further business objectives and legal requirements.

  • Provides leadership and expertise within specific functional areas of the organization and serves as technical resource and expert to management and human resources community.

  • Acts as source of "best practice" information and keeps abreast of trends and issues to design, implement, communicate, and administer human resources strategies, policies, and programs within area of expertise.

  • May lead or coordinate other HR initiatives, projects or programs related to learning & development and talent management and development.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7+ years of experience in Talent Management/Development, HR Business Engagement, Organizational/Leadership Development, with a portion of related experience specifically in Succession Planning. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year of experience)

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Experience working with succession planning in some capacity is required

  • Prior experience leading an organization's succession planning efforts (process, strategy) is a plus but not required

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic, organization-wide projects to closure.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think analytically and strategically.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and build relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels of leadership.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal, facilitation, coaching and influencing skills.

  • Excellent personal computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of company organizational structure, policies and programs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
