Amentum Industrial Janitorial Supervisor 1st shift (Flex) Richmond, Virginia
Amentum is looking for an Industrial Janitor Supervisor in Richmond, VA for industrial and warehouse facilities. The Industrial Janitor Supervisor will provide the cleaning staff with general daily pass downs from the previous shift as well as any safety communications and the daily stretch program for all the shift staff before the beginning of each workday.
The Working Supervisor will be assigned designated areas and will be responsible for the upkeep of assigned areas. This position has full time (Monday-Friday) and part-time (Saturday and Sunday) employees as direct reports. The Industrial Janitor Supervisor will conduct inspections and follow up for any corrective actions for all areas assigned to the staff for their assigned shift.
This position is a Thursday through Monday work schedule (includes working on weekends) but may also require working on a Tuesday or Wednesday at times when there are staffing issues or other requirements. Typical work hours are 6:00am-2:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
Hiring Salary: $50,000 annually. This is not an hourly position.

Daily duties and responsibilities:
Provides direction, training, and support to the cleaning staff.
Coordinates coverage in absence of staff when needed.
Performs cleaning tasks in assigned areas when needed, such as cleaning floors/carpets, walls, and glass; cleaning and restocking restrooms; removing trash, etc.
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with the client, co-workers, supervisor, managers, and direct reports.
Follows up on customer complaints.
Schedules and coordinates janitorial projects, i.e.: floors, carpets, etc.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, client, and regulatory authorities.
Remains flexible and prepared to complete all tasks that are assigned and ensures areas are covered.
Performs area inspections to ensure all contractual obligations are met and service levels meet or exceed customer expectations.
Holds daily huddles with staff at start of each shift to communicate priorities, work assignments, and inspection results.
Exhibits dependability, hard work, strong ethics, and professional appearance.
Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needs and submits to manager for approval.
Identifies and reacts to staff development and training gaps.
Identifies and solves problems and escalates to manager when necessary.
Addresses attendance and performance issues with progressive counseling.
Interviews potential employees and makes recommendations for hire.
Inspects equipment for cleanliness and repair, tags out equipment when needed, and reports needed repairs to manager.
Notifies manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Utilizes mobile device to track cleaning checklists and perform quality inspections/audits.
Drives vehicles as required to perform work or travel to other facilities to clean, which may include vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, and industrial vacuum cleaners.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
3 years of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
1 year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures (SDS, OSHA).
Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Ability to work an alternative schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
Valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles is required for this position.
Some Physical/Special requirements include:
Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach and wrist movement.
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded microfiber cleaning clothes and mops.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
