Position:M-Th Nights 7pm-7am, Fri as needed

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Converting Manager, this position is accountable for the manufacturing of products within the converting department that meet customer and internal qualifications with regard to quality, timelines and good manufacturing practices and adherence to all company rules and regulations. As a member of the Plant Leadership team, the Converting Supervisor provides input and demonstrates leadership to support the Plant’s operating plans/strategies and the company’s business plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the department is operating in accordance with company principles/policies/guidelines.

  2. Ensure Efficient Workflow. All department’s assets are utilized and maintained optimally to yield products that meet quality and cost standards.

  3. Provide input for improvements and/or capital investments to achieve/maintain quality productivity levels.

  4. Ensure Alignment with the Organizational Goals. Ensure that department staffing is properly organized, trained, motivated, and supervised so that people understand company standards/policies/principles and work toward targets/objectives as a team.

  5. Fostering a Positive and Collaborative Work Environment.

  6. Set targets for operating units to achieve continuous improvements with regard to safety/service/productivity.

  7. Strictly adheres to and enforces all safety rules and regulations.

  8. Encourage Professional Development. Through one-on-one review sessions, training, and project assignments to utilize their potential and build qualified back-ups for key positions including his/her own.

  9. Prioritize Tasks. Monitor and adjust the schedule of the slitting and converting machinery to ensure timely service to customers.

  10. Participate fully in appropriate task forces/committees.

  11. Monitor employee performance, timesheet review/approval process and conduct personnel evaluations. Performance management of employees.

  12. 12.Participate in hiring process including, interviews and talent assessment.

  13. Initiate, document and deliver any required disciplinary actions for team members in a timely and professional manner.

  14. Resolve conflicts among team members and refer issues to higher authority when needed, documenting all necessary information in a detailed and timely manner in support of formal investigations.

  15. Initiate all required purchases and work orders

  16. Responsible for the department’s compliance with the company’s ISO 9000 certification requirements.

  17. Perform a variety of other tasks of equal or lesser complexity as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. This person should be a high school graduate

  2. Must possess strong communication skills.

  3. Be emotional intelligence.

  4. Must be able to manage daily operations.

  5. leadership and people development skills.

  6. Basic computer skills are required - Office 365.

  7. Hands-on experience in the coating/laminating/web processing industry is a plus

  8. Forklift Experience a plus

Compensation : $75,000 to $85,000 annually
