Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Technical Advisor - MEP & Power Distribution to join our team! In this role you will provide technical expertise on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Review MEP designs, specifications, and drawings, ensuring feasibility, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Support the selection of MEP equipment and materials based on technical suitability, reliability, and life-cycle cost analysis.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve MEP-related issues in design, construction, and operation.

  • Advise on medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) power distribution networks, including substations, transformers, switchgear, and panel boards.

  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local electrical codes for power distribution infrastructure.

  • Provide recommendations on load calculations, fault analysis, and electrical protection systems.

  • Assess renewable energy integration, backup power (generators, UPS), and energy management solutions.

  • Ensure MEP and power distribution systems comply with local authority regulations such as SEC, KAHRAMAA, DEWA, ADDC, and other regional standards.

  • Conduct risk assessments and quality checks to ensure project safety and reliability.

  • Collaborate with design consultants and contractors to implement best practices in sustainability and energy efficiency.

  • Assist project teams in technical evaluations, value engineering, and feasibility studies.

  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to align MEP and power distribution solutions with overall project requirements.

  • Provide technical training and mentorship to project engineers and site teams.

  • Oversee system testing, commissioning, and performance validation.

  • Troubleshoot issues during installation and handover phases to ensure a smooth transition to operations.

  • Develop maintenance and reliability strategies for MEP and electrical systems.

  • Provide expertise in rail and metro power systems , including traction power supply, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail electrification.

  • Advise on high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) power supply systems , ensuring safe and efficient transmission for railway operations.

  • Support the design and implementation of traction power substations (TPS) , including rectifiers, transformers, and switchgear for metro and rail networks.

  • Evaluate power distribution for rail signaling, communications, and station auxiliary power systems .

  • Ensure integration of SCADA and BMS for remote monitoring and control of traction power and substations.

  • Conduct load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, and grounding system design for rail and metro networks.

  • Provide guidance on emergency power supply and redundancy systems for uninterrupted rail operations.

  • Work closely with transport authorities, EPC contractors, and rail operators to ensure seamless implementation of power distribution solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with international railway power standards , including EN 50163, IEC 61850, and local rail authority requirements.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • BEng / BSc Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum of 20 years experience

  • Railway, Transportation, Metro Experience.

  • Design, PM, experience across lifecycle
