Description
The Neuromuscular Division in the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) has an opening for a full-time Neuromuscular ALS/electromyographer clinican for a tenure accruing position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists at one of the country’s top-tier clinical, research, and teaching universities. This position offers an opportunity to combine clinical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and clinical research with a particular focus on ALS and other neuromuscular disorders.
The Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester is one of the top-ranked NIH-funded Medical School Departments of Neurology in the country, with over 100 faculty within 15 divisions. The Department has an adult and a pediatric neurology residency program, as well as ACGME-accredited fellowship programs in many subspecialty areas, including three fellows in neuromuscular medicine and two fellows in clinical electrophysiology.
The Neuromuscular Disease Center is one of the leading Neuromuscular Disease Centers in the country, with rich expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research across a range of neuromuscular disorders, clinical neurophysiology, neuromuscular pathology, experimental therapeutics and basic and translational research in neuromuscular disorders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and outstanding BC/BE, fellowship-trained Neuromuscular Specialist/electromyographer, with a career interest in ALS disease and electrodiagnostic medicine to promote our neuromuscular disease clinical and research programs. They will provide expert diagnosis and management of ALS disease. The role also offers opportunities for involvement in research.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
