Assistant Program Manager - Human Services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in human services, business, or related field.
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible experience working in care planning for individuals with disabilities (IWD), Vocational Rehabilitation, or Community Relations.
  • Minimum of one year'supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
  • Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening. Complete APDs Supported Employment Training. First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications.
  • Satisfy eight hours of continuing competency units (CCUs) as specified by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).
  • Work with adults with disabilities.
  • Valid Drivers' licenseto transport participants as needed.
  • Meet and maintain Vocational Rehabilitations' car insurance requirements to transport individuals.
  • May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with disability-service and multi-division organizations.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of community organizations and social service programs.
  • Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Leadership skills

  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Operate a computer using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department/organization specific software.
  • Manage confidential employment information with discretion.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret program related laws and regulations and establish necessary work processes and procedures.
  • Critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions and suggest improvements to processes.
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Regularly attend work and arrive for designated work schedule.
  • Communication skills, orallyand in writing.
  • Available to cover for staff at times as necessary.

TRAVEL:

  • Some travel to community functions and program-related events may occur.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE(IF APPLICABLE): Must be authorized to access and work on government installations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the routine performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 40 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. These requirements can be done with or without reasonable accommodation. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Tasks are regularly performed in an air-conditioned office.
