HWe are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient High Level Chemist to perform chemical analysis and manage laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with FDA requirements, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. This role offers an opportunity to grow within a small team and eventually lead your own team.
Responsibilities
Perform analysis of chemicals and finished products.
Maintain and record all data using Good Documentation Practices.
Order and maintain adequate supplies needed for testing.
Conduct peer reviews of other analysts' work for accuracy.
Perform laboratory maintenance duties as needed.
Author and edit applicable Standard Operating Procedures and test methods.
Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements.
Maintain and calibrate lab instrumentation per Company SOPs.
Monitor unit performance and take proactive measures to ensure proficiency, efficiency, and conformance to cGMP.
Review and approve specific quality documentation including raw materials, finished products, consumer complaints, lab incidents and investigations, and annual product reports.
Initiate and conduct continuous improvement initiatives for the laboratory.
Practice safe laboratory operations.
Direct interface with laboratory equipment service providers.
Cross-train in the microbiological laboratory.
Essential Skills
Proficiency with HPLC and GC equipment.
Expertise in all common laboratory techniques, including reagent preparation and labeling.
Ability to perform basic mathematical and scientific calculations.
Experience with analytical chemistry, wet chemistry, and titration.
Knowledge of FDA requirements for laboratory personnel.
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with gas chromatography (GCMS).
Knowledge of raw material testing.
Familiarity with quality control and analytical development.
Experience in a pharmaceutical setting.
Work Environment
This position is based in a pharmaceutical company with a smaller team of about 10 employees. The role requires working in a laboratory setting, maintaining and calibrating lab instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
