Job Title: Building Operations Engineer

Job Description

Oversee the operation and maintenance of a LEED certified 'Gold' building to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and uninterrupted HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Diagnose malfunctions, perform scheduled preventive maintenance, repairs, and project renovation tasks, while ensuring the quality of vendor-contracted services.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform scheduled preventive maintenance, repairs, and project renovation tasks.

• Ensure the quality of vendor-contracted services.

• Perform energy audits and track, trend, and analyze utility data.

• Investigate the latest technologies and implement energy-saving measures.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental and safety codes.

• Routinely perform on-call 24/7 emergency work, including weekends and holidays.

• Provide tools and equipment necessary to perform major duties.

• Supervise and coach building assistants, production copy center, and receiving personnel and operations.

• Manage audio/visual support for conference rooms.

• Maintain fire alarm, light scheduling, and noise canceling systems.

• Operate and administer the Building Automation System.

Essential Skills

• 7-10 years of hands-on experience working with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• High level of proficiency with Building Automation Software (Johnson Controls Metasys preferred).

• Working knowledge of network administration, TCP/IP, and digital processing equipment.

• Familiarity with The United States Green Building Council and Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in energy management.

• Knowledge of audio systems and high-speed production copiers.

• Experience in managing building automation systems.

Work Environment

This position is based in a commercial building in Rockville, MD. The work involves maintaining and operating various building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems. The role requires availability for 24/7 emergency work, including weekends and holidays.

This is a Contract to hire position based out of Rockville, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
