The Opportunity
As a Solutions Architect/Pre-Sale Engineer, you will be responsible for developing digital solutions to respond to RFXs. You will focus on delivering IT systems and data products that inform program evaluation, implementation, and agency operations. In this role, you will blend knowledge of federal programs and IT systems to design, develop, and deliver solutions and teams with a high level of quality, resiliency, and timeliness. You will work closely with the capture and market teams to understand client requirements and provide technical support during the sales process. You will be involved with preparing product demonstrations, technical presentations, orals, proposal responses, and managing relationships with clients in the government sector. The role is critical in ensuring that our solutions align with the needs of government contracts and are technically feasible.
Core Responsibilities
Assist the sales team by providing technical expertise during the sales process. Collaborate with capture managers and portfolio teams to identify customer needs and propose suitable solutions.
Understand and comply with government contracting regulations, requirements, and procurement processes (e.g., FAR, DFARS, 508 Compliance).
Work with internal teams to design and customize solutions based on government customer specifications. Participate in preparing and reviewing proposals, responding to RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFQs (Request for Quotes), and other solicitation documents.
Conduct live product demonstrations, technical briefings, and presentations to potential government clients. Tailor demos to address the specific needs of each client.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals for government clients.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, product managers, and engineers to ensure that customer requirements are understood and met.
Engage with government clients to gather detailed requirements and assess technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor solutions, and government procurement processes. Use this knowledge to support sales strategies.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all solutions proposed meet compliance, security, and regulatory standards specific to government contracts.
What We Value
Bachelor’s Degree + Fifteen years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or PhD + Ten years of relevant experience; Experience may be substituted for education.
10+ years of progressive experience in sales-oriented client relationship management role, technical professional services delivery, in professional services and government or government contracting.
Experience working with key clients in DoD, DHS, VA and/or Military Health for 5+ years.
Solid understanding of hardware/software solutions, system integration, cloud services, cybersecurity, networking, and IT infrastructure. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaborator with a history of maintaining successful relationships internally and externally. Prior experience working in highly collaborative, highly matrixed environments is desired.
Excellent presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to present to high-level government officials and decision-makers.
Ability to assess customer needs and provide tailored, innovative solutions.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or discipline.
Familiarity with government contracting processes, including GSA schedules, federal and state procurement processes, and compliance with regulations such as ITAR, NIST, FISMA, and CMMC.
Deep familiarity with how the US federal government conducts business, along with experience throughout the federal sales cycle to position, win, and grow business.
US work authorization with no sponsorship required.
Ability to gain or maintain US government security clearance.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $186,000 to $215,000, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
