Prysmian Group Maintenance Clerk in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

Purpose of position:

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the physical inventory in the maintenance stockroom and locate and purchase non-stock repair items as needed. Additionally, this position will manage service vendors who provide maintenance support to the plant.

Major responsibilities - Ongoing tasks:

· Maintain accurate records of spare repair parts in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

· Order spare repair parts as inventory is consumed

· Adjust stocking levels on spare parts to minimize equipment downtime and inventory cost

· Conduct physical inventory counts, and generate reports on inventory accuracy

· Locate and purchase non-stock parts

· Interface with vendors who manage on-site stock

· Manage repair and restocking of repairable parts

· Manage service vendors as needed to support maintenance activities

· Ensure that orders are properly received and invoiced in a timely manner

· Manage the service and repair of Draka vehicles

· Interface with the engineering staff to identify spare parts for new equipment installations

· Work with maintenance planner to maintain updated Equipment BOMs and determine correct stocking levels for spare parts.

The major responsibilities cover the most significant duties but do not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned, the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the normal duties assigned to this job.

List the two most complex decisions indicative of this function and its impact to the function, department, and/or corporation:

· Decisions must be made on what items should be stocked as a spare part and what the proper inventory level should be to minimize downtime and minimize the cost of the inventory. Too few parts on hand could result in unacceptable machine downtime and too many parts on hand will result in excess costs.

· The function and use of the equipment in the plant will need to be understood to identify the proper repair parts.

Equipment used:

· Personal Computer

· SAP for CMMS and purchasing

· Forklift

· Microsoft Word / Excel

Knowledge and skill requirements:

-High School Graduate or Equivalent. Prior related stockroom and/or maintenance experience desired.

-Applicant must have a valid driver’s license from a state within the US.
