Job Description
The Executive Director will coordinate the Minnesota Transportation Center of Excellence (TCOE) operations and activities including consultation services, economic development functions and the development of programs and resources in support of the consortium member colleges and all transportation industries. The Executive Director is responsible for all executive decisions to manage the communication of information, projects, and personnel to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Center. The Executive Director will work to support the interests and investments of all consortium partners and will ensure the Center, and all consortium MinnState members, meet the identified needs of transportation industry and goals of the Center of Excellence as set by the System Office. There are consortium members that are institutions of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, industry representatives, and related K-12 partners (with articulated programs into MinnState). The Executive Director will be responsible for collaborating with all member institutions to provide excellent instruction, assistance in program accreditation, large grant development, national industry representation, and state-wide leadership in transportation. The Executive Director is expected to be flexible in their ability to travel throughout the entire state of Minnesota to work with consortium colleges, businesses, industries, associations, students, and faculty members. This position requires travel to engage with legislative, educational, and industry leaders at the state, regional, and national level

Minimum Qualifications ( Resume must reflect all minimum qualifications to be considered.)
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
2 years of project management experience in a nonprofit, management, or fundraising setting
4 years of industry experience in transportation-related occupations
Knowledge and Skills:
Leadership and management skills to work effectively with the board, staff and other partners.
Understanding of transportation issues at national, state, and local levels, especially related to program development and meeting business and industry needs
Knowledge of transportation and educational legislation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong budgetary and management skills
Proficient computer skills
Licenses and Certifications:
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel throughout Minnesota to engage with consortium colleges, businesses, industries, associations, students, and faculty members
Flexibility to travel to engage with legislative, educational, and industry leaders at the state, regional, and national level
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Preferred Qualification
Master's Degree
Demonstrated successwith cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship ofmajor philanthropic gifts, experience, and successwriting and managing grants
