Job Title: IT Support Technician

Salary: £28,000 – £35,000

Location: Leamington Spa

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Your role and responsibilities

Antech Diagnostics are looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to join our growing team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will provide valuable, daily IT support to on and offsite staff. This will include troubleshooting and configuring individual PC’s/laptops, network connections, Windows servers, email and other software/hardware.

This opportunity is based on site of our brand new facility which is based in the Leamington Spa area, however may require some travel to work at other Antech sites from time to time.

Please note that due to the nature of this role there will be some physical demands including bending, kneeling, crouching and the requirement to lift, move and carry up to 50lbs.

Work Experience

  • Provide support to on-site/off-site staff.

  • Troubleshot network connections.

  • Support and configure thin clients, dumb terminals, PCs/laptops, and other local hardware.

  • Create AD/domain users and update users’ passwords.

  • Provide hands-on technical support for hardware such as servers, desktops/laptops, printers, IP phones, and other peripheral and IP-based devices, mobile devices, physical connectivity to the company’s LAN, data/voice cabling; and software such as office productivity and business applications, internally developed applications, computer operating systems, web applications, and various drivers.

  • Troubleshoot PCs/laptops/servers via remote access (VNC, TeamViewer, Splashtop) and onsite when needed.

  • Schedule and perform network improvements, data recovery, security audits, upgrades, backup of vital systems and repairs.

  • Perform virus, malware and spyware removal from networks and individual PCs/laptops.

  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair.

  • Isolate and determine root cause of complex technical problems.

  • Work with telecommunication team to resolve issues with circuit issues, IP telephones, opening and closing trouble tickets.

  • Support development and implementation of networking projects and new technology installations.

  • Assist with breakdown and set-up of new laboratories and Antech sites.

  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • IT documentation and Asset management to keep track of IT assets.

Experience Required:

  • Must have an IT related qualification at a minimum level of A level or equivalent. A higher level qualification such as a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not essential.

  • Minimum of 3 years of IT experience.

  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.

  • Operating Systems: Windows 10, Windows 11 & Windows Server.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office 365.

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Computer literacy and working technical knowledge of network and PC/laptop/server operating systems.

  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and workflow is helpful but not essential.

  • Experience with network troubleshooting.

  • Quick learner who can learn new technologies.

  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
