Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor for the Locomotive Final Assembly department will be responsible for a team comprised of Electrical and Mechanical assemblers for locomotives. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safety, quality, production of your team. This individual will also be responsible for the overall cost and schedule of your assigned team. You will manage teams on multiple shifts. They will have between one to three Group Leads to assist you in managing your team. Team sizes typically range between 15 to 60 people.

A successful candidate for this position is hands-on and positive minded people leader. A leader who embraces change and is passionate about manufacturing were paying attention to details and organization is critical for success.

What you will be doing:

· Drive Zero Harm @ Siemens by ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure all Team Members are trained in, and observe, safe work practices.

· Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.

· Establish, monitor, and adjust manpower and applicable equipment planning to meet production demands.

· Meet project targets for direct labor hours, schedule, and quality.

· Develop, monitor, and meet department budgets and business plans.

· Establish priorities and ensure all team members are properly trained for their assigned tasks.

· Ensure positive communication with entire team on a regular basis to keep them informed of work status, department performance, process changes, and company policies.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues, and stake holder to ensure mutual success.

· Ability to lead and motivate a direct labor workforce.

· Understand, track, communicate and work to improve appropriate KPI’s along with benchmarks and targets that provide a clear indication of team performance, trends, and potential problem areas.

What you will need to be successful:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Sociology

· 2 years’ experience as a line lead or group leader

· Well-rounded mechanical, electrical comprehension and complex assemblies

· Experience with heavy equipment, overhead work.

· Quality inspections

· Proficient in Excel, SAP, and clear communication

· Desire to grow yourself and your team.

The base salary for this position is $96,800- $130,700. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
