Volt DATA ARCHITECT VI in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Volt is Immediately Hiring for - Data Architect (Utility ). As Data Architect (Utility ) You will: Security Clearance Required -- Public Trust Requirements (Must Haves) : Play a key role in the development and implementation of City Light's enterprise data management strategy. Help move the organization to a data-centric mindset by enabling consistent data standardization and integration across the organization.

  • Establish guiding principles for data architecture work .
  • Translate business needs into data and system requirements so that processes have the data they require.
  • Provide best practice solutions for how data is collected, stored, arranged, used, and removed.
  • Ensure initiative and project level solutions adhere to strategic direction in terms of the technologies, standards, processes, and current/target state architectures for data across the enterprise.
  • Support Business Architects and other Domain Architects during the solution analysis phase of initiatives on the Utility Technology Roadmap through the creation of reference architecture documentation in the form of Information Structure Viewpoints.
  • Provides technical support in the design, maintenance, and interpretation of relational databases, data marts, and data hub.
  • Develop and maintain a formal description of data and data structures including data models, data flow diagrams, data catalogues and dictionaries, metadata, and metadata design, management, and maintenance.
  • Define best practices for extract, transform, and load (ETL) to support analysis and business intelligence solutions - including data warehouses and data marts.
  • Track, evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for relevant data management, data science, storage, and analytic technologies.
  • Establish a standard vocabulary for data and components.
  • Contribute content to an RFI or RFP for an enterprise data hub.

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more experience as a Data Architect
  • Deep business and technical experience with utility industry
  • Proven experience with implementing an enterprise data architecture program or leading strategic projects with the goal of advancing an organization's data maturity.
  • Experience with ArchiMate, TOGAF, or other enterprise modelling standards.
  • Experience creating ArchiMate diagrams for documenting solution and reference architectures.
  • Expertise in data modelling-conceptual, logical, physical data models and data flow diagram.
  • Proficiency with data modelling and reverse engineering tools, such as TOAD or similar.
  • Experience with enterprise database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience with EPRI Common Information Model (CIM)
  • Proven experience with both cloud and on prem architectures
  • Experience with data management and data governance best practices.
  • Work in a professional and collaborative way with a track record of success.
  • Organized and methodical; strong prioritization and negotiation skills.
  • Operates with a propensity for thoughtful action and high output.
  • Possess a positive problem solving, thought leadership-oriented mentality.
  • Possess a high level of business and executive level communication skills.
  • Be able to work well with technical experts to achieve business results.
  • Utility experience preferred

This is a Contract opportunity. Location : Remote ( Need local to WA) May have to go to the office occasionally. Contract : 6+ Month Pay Rate : $60-69 Per hour.
