Description
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst I will play a key role in supporting the internal software development team by gathering and analyzing business requirements, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and ensuring that software solutions align with business needs. This role partners closely with the IS Project Management team to identify, plan, implement, test, and maintain Business System Applications solutions that support critical business processes. The Business Analyst I will participate in the design, development, maintenance, and support of complex business applications while ensuring alignment with business objectives. A strong understanding of business processes and their connection to technology solutions is essential for delivering high-quality customer service and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Effective time management, analytical thinking, organizational skills, strong documentation and the ability to communicate effectively will all be important in this role. The ability to work as part of a team, utilizing effective time management, analytical thinking skills, organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively will lead to success within the team. To excel in this role, an analyst should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Perform all work in compliance with company policies and within the guidelines of the BioMerieux Quality System.
Understand BioMerieux's technical and scientific mission, ensuring alignment with business and system processes.
Requirements Gathering and Documentation
Gather and document business and technical requirements, preparing detailed technical documentation for software releases (e.g., technical specifications, VandV forms, etc.).
Develop user stories, process flows, and functional specifications to support software development.
Ensure all documentation aligns with change control and configuration management standards, with a focus on stakeholder communication.
Process Analysis and Improvement
Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement.
Construct recommendations and strategic plans based on business needs and data insights.
Support process mapping and change management efforts to drive user adoption of new applications.
Software Development and Agile Support
Work in an Agile environment, actively participating in all applicable phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Partner with the business to gain a deep understanding of their needs and contribute to solutions that meet their goals.
Work with the Software Project Manager and team to identify risks to project deliverables and recommend mitigation strategies.
Develop alternative solutions when necessary to address project challenges.
