Ethos Veterinary Health Pharmacy and Laboratory Assistant in San Antonio, Texas

We are currently seeking Pharmacy and Laboratory Assistants. These positions are for full-time employment and experience with human or veterinary medicine is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has high attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Pharmacy Duties:
Maintains a safe, clean and organized pharmacy area and backstock
Counts and transfers scripted medications into properly labeled and appropriately sized containers
Restocks shelves in front and backstock pharmacy areas
Completes monthly outdated non-controlled drug check
Completes weekly front and backstock pharmacy inventory
Date and label incoming inventory and restock in chronologic order based on expiration date
Laboratory Duties:
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized laboratory area
Prepare samples and requisition forms to be submitted to outside diagnostic laboratories
Attaches outside labs in medical records daily.
Preparing and conducting in house diagnostic tests including automatic analyzers as well as manual blood and urine analysis.
Keep “hold” patient samples organized
Maintenance all in house analyzers based on manufacturer recommendations and maintain records of maintenance
Troubleshoot and maintain documentation of any errors or malfunctions of the in-house analyzers
Correspond with representatives from analyzer companies for updates, malfunctions, refunds, company driven maintenance, etc.
Assist inventory manager in sending in equipment needing repair or maintenance
Check for completed tests from all outside laboratories and report results to the requesting doctor/department daily
Additional Duties:
Assist in quarterly inventory counts
Assist in intaking and putting away inventory deliveries
Assists other departments as assigned by supervisor
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and restocking of the main treatment and surgery areas
Assist in other kennel duties such as laundry and dishes
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation is based on experience and will range between $12.00 - $15.00 per hour.
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
