Aerotek Assembly Operator in San Diego, California

Job Description

The Assembly Operator utilizes a variety of hand and power tools to perform advanced assembly operations of complex assemblies in accordance with quality and quantity standards. This role involves training employees in both basic and complex operations. Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in accordance with Standard Work Outline.

  • Assemble car locks daily based on the hour-by-hour schedule.

  • Navigate through kits provided to assemble each build.

  • Perform all work in a safe manner, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

  • Follow specifications for inspections as noted.

  • Dimensionally check and test production to ensure assembled output meets requirements per AQL standards.

  • Utilize properly calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other measuring tools.

  • Inform the Team Leader of any operating, material, or parts conditions that would interfere with quality or quantity production, and take or coordinate approved actions to resolve the problem(s).

  • Perform operator maintenance and operational checks on all departmental tools and equipment.

  • Periodically dispose of scrap or recycled material into approved collection containers.

  • Frequently lift and move up to and including 50 lbs.

  • Perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

  • Receive daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 1 year of experience in assembly with an emphasis on mechanical assembly.

  • Experience using basic hand tools.

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.

  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) and work safely.

  • Ability to read and write to comply with written instructions and complete departmental paperwork.

Work Environment

Shifts: 1st - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday. ($16/hr)

2nd - 2:00pm - 12:30am Monday to Thursday. ($17.50/hr)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
