Hourly rate for Part-Time Facilities Service Worker: $20.16/hour

SUMMARY

The Facilities Services Worker is responsible for keeping the interior and exterior areas of Civic Theatre and Balboa Theatre in a safe, sanitized, and well stocked condition. They will also maintain the office areas at the San Diego Theatres Corporate offices located in the City Center Building. Service Workers also assist with setup of equipment and furniture to support and enhance the activities specific to the events and operation of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain a safe work environment for the employees and guests.

  • Maintain the clean and sanitized condition of restrooms, lobbies, seating areas, backstage dressing and support areas, and exterior entrances. Cleaning techniques may include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and wiping of surfaces.

  • Check and makes certain all restrooms are sanitary, and well stocked with paper products.

  • Clean and maintain all windows and glass in the building (with the exception of the Grand Salon chandelier and all exterior windows above the lobby).

  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and cleaning of janitorial closets. Maintains proper care of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.

  • Empty trash, recycle, and garbage containers, and dispose of all items in the proper waste dumpsters and compactors.

  • Move, set, and restore equipment and furniture including, but not limited to, tables, chairs, pipe and drape, according to event plan or organizational need.

  • Assist with customer service and engagement by answering guests questions regarding the facility.

  • Promptly report any equipment, fixture, or area of the venue in need of repair or maintenance to supervisor. Assist in the preparation of work orders as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work on a team

  • Strong communication skills to speak with team members and supervisors to relay information

  • Possess exceptional ethics, honesty, and integrity with regards to professional behavior and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Ability to be proactive, and take the extra step.

  • Ability to read directions, plans, and maps to determine venue set ups.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous housekeeping or custodial maintenance required.

  • GED or High School diploma required.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate in the English language in both verbal and written forms.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Certifications for Housekeeping trainings a plus.
