Description

The pay range for Public Safety Supervisor : $66,560 - $78,000 annual salary.

SUMMARY

The Public Safety Supervisor is responsible for the safety, security, and property of all staff and guests of both San Diego Theatres’ venues. The Supervisor provides administrative and event related support to the Public Safety management team and participates in the training and managing of part-time Public Safety staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a working supervisor during events: coordinates safety and security event plan; conducts briefings for internal and external staff; supervises staff and adjusts deployment as needed.

  • Assist the Public Safety Manager to advance events.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and an open mind. Strive to create an atmosphere of cooperation, engagement, and respect.

  • Continuously develop personal understanding of SDT Mission, Vision and Values Statements, and effectively communicate their practice and application to Public Safety staff.

  • Continuously develop personal proficiency in SDT corporate and Operations policies and procedures, and effectively communicate their practice and application.

  • Assist in staff training as directed by the Public Safety management team.

  • Supervise part time staff including, but not limited to, coaching and counseling team members.

  • Assist in the management of equipment and processes such as, but not limited to Lost and Found, Fire Extinguishers, and AED. Compile inventory of all logs and ensure accuracy and completion.

  • Actively research ways to prevent unsafe situations from occurring or reoccurring and conducting visual inspections during patrols of both facilities.

  • Create schedules for all Public Safety personnel, and ensure shifts are staffed appropriately.

  • Secure replacements and/or provide temporary coverage as may be needed for absences, breaks, and/or changes in staffing needs.

  • Providewrittenincident reportstothePublic SafetyManagerrelativeto client, employee, and guest injuries or illnesses.

  • Ensure staff maintain proper care of uniforms, equipment and supplies.

  • Supervise Contract Security and EMT to assure the highest services to the SDT guests and employees.

  • Coordinate with other Operations Department Managers to address guest complaints with problem resolution.

  • Assist in carrying out policies, procedures and guidelines and promptly advise Public Safety management team of conflicts or inappropriate actions.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by manager.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to de-escalate incidents diplomatically and tactfully and resolve difficult and sensitive situations.

  • Interpersonal skills are needed to foster a welcoming, effective, and efficient environment for clients, guests, contractors, and employees.

  • Possess exceptional ethics, honesty, and integrity as well as complete respect for confidentiality and the appropriateness of communication.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of San Diego Theatres.

  • Availability to work day, evening and/or shifts including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge spreadsheet and word processing programs.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Minimum of a High School Diploma. Three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Safety and Security experience in a public assembly facility is desirable. Minimum of 1 – 3 years of previous supervisory experience required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate concisely. Bilingual a plus

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of patrons or employees of San Diego Theatres.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as fire safety rules, tickets, and procedure manuals.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    AED, CPR and First Aid Training. BSIS guard card a plus.
