Description A Robert Half Management Resource client is in immediate need for a detail-oriented and skilled Payroll Accountant Consultant to assist with critical payroll and accounting functions during a short-term engagement. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related financial records and supporting month-end close activities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong payroll accounting experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Journal Entries: Post and reconcile payroll journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial reports.

Payroll Reconciliations: Perform detailed payroll account reconciliations, including resolving discrepancies and maintaining proper documentation.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to payroll, ensuring all items are accurate and timely.

Commission Accruals: Calculate and record commission accruals, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Month-End Close Support: Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing and posting payroll-related adjustments and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure payroll data is accurately captured and reported.

Proactively identify and implement process improvements for greater accounting efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Strong knowledge and practical experience with payroll accounting.

Proven ability to perform reconciliations (payroll and balance sheet) with attention to detail.

Solid understanding of financial close processes and accruals, particularly for commissions.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (a plus but not required):

Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) payroll systems.

Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software.
