Robert Half Lead Senior Accountant in San Francisco, California
Description
Robert Half is looking for a Lead Senior Accountant to join or Finance department. Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the more complex accounting and reporting processes. Responsibilities include month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, invoice approvals, and supporting Board and managerial reporting and financial and compliance audits. The incumbent may also be responsible for researching accounting issues and supporting the implementation of new financial processes. This position is 100% in-office.
Specific Duties
This position will be assigned the more complex and/or involved accounting areas such as endowment, contributions, and investments.
Prepare assigned month-end journal entries.
Prepare and maintain accrual and deferral activities, as assigned.
Prepare and follow up on assigned balance sheet reconciliations and roll forward schedules.
Perform and follow up on assigned variance analyses
Approve assigned invoice activity
Support assistant controller with complex year-end audit schedules and issues and consolidation
Support assigned compliance reporting, such as Form 990, debt covenant reporting, and DOE single audit.
Potential liaison with Financial Aid team and Student Billing
Other financial projects and tasks as assigned by the Controller or VP Finance
Requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
Prior higher education and Financial Aid administration experience highly desirable
Prior experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge general ledger highly desirable
Public accounting and CPA certification desirable
Minimum 5-7 years of work experience
