Nexstar Media Group Production Manager in San Francisco, California

KRON 4 in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Production Manager.

The Production Manager’s main responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day operations of the station studio production staff and systems. Candidates must have experience supervising a television broadcast production & operations department with a large news operation.

This is a full-time, non-union, exempt position.

Candidate must have a strong & proven background in the following areas:

  • State of the art broadcast equipment, with an emphasis on control room and news gathering equipment and software.

  • Experience managing a production and studio staff.

  • Experience overseeing control rooms and studio operations.

  • Experience with broadcast production automation systems.

  • Experience with newsroom production software (ENPS, Bitcentral, Ross Overdrive, etc.).

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and is a team player. Other key responsibilities, attributes, and characteristics include:

  • Maintain positive and proactive communication on all production related issues among all other departments (News, Sales, Promotions & Engineering)

  • Assist in the design and implementation of projects including equipment upgrades and workflow improvements.

  • Flexible, but also focused on completing tasks and projects.

  • Must be able to occasionally work weekends, longer hours, or varying shifts when necessary to meet production and broadcast emergencies or deadlines.

  • 5 years of broadcast TV production preferred.

  • A college degree or equivalent work experience is highly desired.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

$100,000+ commensurate with experience and skill level
