The Hertz Corporation Senior Product Manager - Skip the Counter in San Francisco, California

A Day in the Life:

As a Senior Product Manager on Hertz’s Day of Rent team, you will be responsible for building software products that enhance the customer experience by offering a streamlined, self-service rental journey that enable customers can go directly to their car upon arrival. This role requires strategic vision and hands-on leadership in defining product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering seamless, customer-centric digital experiences. You will collaborate with engineering and design teams to build scalable solutions and ship features in a complex environment. Your role will involve modernizing legacy applications, managing technical debt, and integrating various systems to enhance the customer experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and prioritize product features that will enable the growth and scale of Hertz’s initiatives, which is one of the major priorities of the business.

  • Execute against long-term product roadmap, coordinating with operations, engineering, design, and data science teams both domestically and internationally.

  • Work closely with the strategy, operations, and go to market teams to ensure there is a consistent and holistic approach from pilot to scaled solutions.

  • Communicate across constituencies: within cross-functional team, broadly within Hertz internally and external to Hertz (partners, investors, candidates, etc.)

  • Ensure that we have a consistent customer focus in our research, planning and decision making

  • Articulate and systematically test product hypotheses

  • Navigate complex decision-making using product data and key performance indicators

  • Identify and implement metrics for estimating the impact of changes to the existing risk management platforms and tools.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience

  • A 4-year degree in Computer Science or substantially similar program

  • Proven experience in building seamless and engaging consumer-facing products, preferably in e-commerce.

  • Ability to drive roadmap and execution of a product with significant operational complexity.

  • Work deeply with engineering and design team to ideate on solutions to business problems.

  • Capability to impact areas outside of immediate scope, especially in cross-functional initiatives.

  • Run competitive benchmark and internal data assessments to uncover new opportunities and turn them into insights that align with company goals

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and explain outcomes.

  • Strong product sense, aligning work with business objectives and making appropriate trade-offs.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Figma.

We expect the starting salary to be around $150,000 with annual bonus and profit sharing eligibility. The actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience
