Position Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for managing a territory of existing accounts in order to maximize sales volume consistent with pricing policy, annual operating plan and established strategic initiatives within assigned geographic area or defined account(s). Ensure customer satisfaction through continuing contact and follow-up on all issues. The incumbent will also manage distributors/resellers within assigned territory by calling upon them directly as well as through their customers to ensure proper product availability and adequate inventory levels. This position will have access to all resources within the organization (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) in order to properly support customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a territory of existing accounts in order to maximize sales volume consistent with pricing policy, annual operating plan and established strategic initiatives within assigned geographic area or defined account(s).

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through continuing contact and follow-up on all issues. This includes providing technical expertise to customers and distributors/resellers in order to increase acceptance of products; assist in developing specifications for new business opportunities; conduct product evaluations; generate leads for additional business; and make recommendations concerning new product development.

  • Manage distributors/resellers within assigned territory by calling upon them directly as well as through their customers to ensure proper product availability and adequate inventory levels.

  • Conduct regular meetings with key decision makers at customer sites to review current programs and develop plans for future growth.

  • Develop business plans for existing and prospective accounts based on analysis of markets, competitors, product offerings, prices, and profitability; coordinate implementation of marketing strategies within each account; and monitor results.

  • Prepare and submit reports required by management such as monthly expense and sales reports, quarterly forecasts, annual operating plans, etc.

  • Maintain records necessary to comply with FDA regulations, including but not limited to price lists, promotional materials, samples, and educational literature.

  • Provide information concerning competitor activities, market trends, potential applications, product usage, and related topics to Sales Management and Product Development personnel.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained within assigned territory.

  • Develop and implement sales objectives for areas under responsibility.

  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering or other relevant field.

  • Minimum of two years experience in medical device industry with proven track record of success selling complex medical devices.

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of clinical segment, product line, market, competition, and pricing strategy.

  • Knowledge of hospital procurement processes and procedures, contract negotiations, group purchasing organizations, and governmental agencies involved in health care delivery.

  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of internal management, external customers, and outside vendors.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

  • Possess valid driver’s license.
