Teradyne Manufacturing Technician in San Jose, California

LitePoint creates wireless test solutions and services for the world’s most innovative wireless device makers, helping them to ensure their products perform for today’s demanding consumers. We are looking for a skilled full time manufacturing technician to join our team in San Jose.

We are not considering candidates who require sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble electronic products. Perform rework based on the ECO, Process Deviation, and or MPI instruction using certain type of solder Flux (Leaded or Lead-Free, Clean or No-clean process)

  • Enter repair results in data reporting tools. Perform inspections of PCBA workmanship to ensure products meet quality specifications

  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practices.

  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 - 7 years manufacturing electronic test technician and mechanical assembly experience

  • The ability to evaluate and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical instruments.

  • This position requires skills for general assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment using basic hand tools.

  • Must Understand ESD, board handling, and safety practices

  • Requires the ability to interpret schematics and drawings, perform modifications and accomplish rework to new and used sub-assemblies and systems.

  • Works closely with mechanical, electrical, and optical engineers providing feedback and recommending changes to improve operation or quality of test, assembly fixtures, tooling, and processes.

  • Must display the ability to read, understand and follow manufacturing process instructions (MPIs) in English.

  • Must be able to do mechanical assembly.

  • Demonstrated ability to hand-solder components. (0201, 0402, jumper wires)

  • Must be available for OT and weekend work as required in addition to minimum 40 hr./wk

Education

Associate's degree preferred or relevant experience.
