Oracle Principal Program Manager in Santa Clara, California

Job Description

Job Scope:

The Datacenter Software organization is looking for a strong program manager with product management experience, UI/UX experience, and solid technical understanding of software development. This is a hybrid product/program manager role where you will be working directly with customers and engineering teams to lead the product vision for our new DCIM product. Our organization currently has software that handles discrete aspects of datacenter management, and the opportunity we have in front of us is to build a complete, integrated platform solution that multiple engineering teams across OCI will plug into. This role and product will be critical to OCI's ability to scale with our accelerating customer demand.

What You Will Do:

  • Continually learn. Deeply understand the business processes and technologies required todesign, build, and operate a network of public cloud datacenters. Gather feedback throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Uncover customer needs. Demonstrate a high degree of empathy and creativity in identifying customer pain points and opportunities for improvement.

  • Lead measurable impact. Identify, analyze, and prioritize - using both qualitative and quantitative measures - the largest opportunities for business impact.

  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap. Partner with software engineering to craft and maintain a 12-month product roadmap for software development. Represent the product roadmap and strategy to customers and stakeholders.

  • Clearly communicate and document the product vision and functional product requirements. Support software engineering and UX design in the development of software solutions.

  • Evangelize and educate datacenter designers, builders, and operators in using our solutions. Create content to help enable customer success.

Responsibilities

  1. 8-10 years of software or datacenter industry experience required

  2. 5-7 years of product and/or program manager role required

  3. 1+ years of UI / UX design experience

  4. Proven ability to drive clarity and decision-making among engineering leaders and stakeholders

  5. Proven ability to take a project from ambiguous statements of need through actual launch of the product / project / program

  6. Ability to simplify complexity and keep the big picture in mind while also diving into details

  7. Effective written and verbal communication skills to align diverse viewpoints around a shared understanding of product vision, roadmap, and execution plan

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years preferred in web-focused design technology

  2. Familiarity with data center operations and software systems for hardware

  3. Technically conversant with software engineers; knowledge of API frameworks, service-oriented architecture, and DevOps processes and best practices

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
