Fujitsu Research Intern in Santa Clara, California

Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications for internship position in the field of quantum algorithms and applications. The position starts in the Fall term for a period of 3 months (40 hours per week) or 6 months (20 hours per week). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work either remotely or from FRA’s Santa Clara office. The successful candidate will be pursuing a graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a focus on quantum information processing and error-correcting codes.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Develop novel quantum algorithms to publish the work in reputed scientific journals, conferences, and/ or workshops.

  2. Demonstrate the application of your quantum algorithms in one or more of the following fields: finance, machine learning, optimization, quantum chemistry, and quantum simulations.

  3. Collaborate internally with FRA researchers and help them by contributing to the quantum computing stack of Fujitsu.

Essential requirements:

  1. Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. program in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

  2. Strong publication record demonstrated by accepted or published research papers in high-quality conferences and/ or journals.

  3. At least two years of research experience working in quantum algorithms and applications either in NISQ algorithms, FTQC algorithms, or both.
