Actalent Medical Lab Scientist in Schaumburg, Illinois

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate general chemistry and perform manual methods.

  • Use other available instrumentation in the laboratory.

  • Analyze and organize work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling.

  • Sort specimens, check labeling, log specimens, and arrange reports for delivery.

  • Maintain clean and orderly work surfaces.

  • Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance.

  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls.

  • Verify equipment function through routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Calibrate equipment using approved testing procedures.

  • Process and test upward of 1000 samples per shift.

  • Work with blood and urine samples and perform necessary testing.

  • Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Science or Chemistry.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 months of industry experience in a clinical lab setting.

  • Technical Skills :Experience with chemistry bench in healthcare (urine/blood testing).

  • Efficiency: Ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment and process 1000+ samples per shift.

  • Certification: ASCP Certified or Eligible.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
