Monday – Friday 8AM - 4:30PM

Annual Salary Range – Depending on level:

Lead Specialist, QA (1-3 years of Experience) $70,000 – 85,000

Expert, Quality Assurance (3-8 Years of Experience) $85,000 – 100,000

Senior Expert, Quality Assurance (9+ YOS) $95,000 – 110,000

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided.

Your role as a Lead Specialist, Expert Quality Assurance or Senior Expert in Quality Assurance will be to support the implementation and execution of the quality and food safety management systems within the region. You will ensure compliance to local, regional, and global DNP, regulatory, and customer requirements through documentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities. Schenectady is the largest site and is a focal point of our three premix manufacturing sites where we blend vitamins and nutrients for the North American Region as a food manufacturing site.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with customer complaints, inquiries, and questionnaires.

  • Maintains Quality systems, which may include: HACCP, Zoning, Validation, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Reprocess calculation, Internal Audits and GMP Inspections.

  • Site audits – regulatory (FDA), international standards (ISO), and customer.

  • Gather data and create reports and tables, as needed, for customer complaints, premix investigations, deviations, etc.

  • Maintains good documentation practices.

  • Review documentation, analytical data, product specifications and process changes/deviations before releasing product to ensure adherence to defined specifications. Initiate and resolve any concerns, notes.

  • Ensures compliance to regulatory (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) international (ISO 9001, FSSC22000), and DNP (management directives) standards.

  • Identifies and executes opportunities for continuous improvement. Coordinates with other operational units to maintain compliance and perform comprehensive evaluations for investigations and continuous improvement opportunities.

You bring :

  • As a Lead Specialist: Bachelor's Degree in relevant scientific discipline with at least 1 year experience or Associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

  • As an Expert: Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline with at least 3 years’ experience or Associate’s degree with 5 years’ experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

  • As a Senior Expert: Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline with at least 8 years experience or Associate’s degree with 10 years’ experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in maintaining or implementing international standards, i.e., ISO9001 or ISO22000/FSSC22000.

  • Leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes within the food or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience with regulatory agencies, e.g., FDA.

  • Experience with customer complaints preferred.

  • Understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines relevant for all North America product types: dietary supplements, infant formula premixes and food a plus.
