Catholic Social Services Executive Administrative Assistant in Scranton, Pennsylvania

Description

The Diocese of Scranton is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant

to the Diocesan Secretary for Catholic Human Services/Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Social

Services. Scheduled work time is 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM but must be flexible based on the needs of the office.

This shall be a salaried position in compliance with State/Federal wage regulations.

?Child Line, PA State Police, and FBI background checks required prior to beginning employment;

VIRTUS training (employer provided) is also required.

Responsibilities/Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for general administrative support such as answering

multiple phone lines in the Executive Office, preparing correspondence and mailings, organizing

and scheduling the calendar of the CEO of Catholic Social Services and maintaining the

files/records within the office. This position also serves as secretary for monthly Governing Board

meetings and will be responsible for coordinating agenda items and preparing meeting minutes.

Required Qualifications

The minimum experience and training may be a high school diploma or G.E.D with

preferred major in business and experience in clerical and/or fiscal employment.

A minimum of five (5) years experience; bi-lingual Spanish is a plus but not required.

The individual should have a working knowledge of a computer screen interface and possess

skills using the computer, must be experienced with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must be proficient in pulling annual reports for multiple departments of Catholic Social

Services.

Responsible for submitting monthly expenses and mileage vouchers of the CEO to the fiscal

department.

Main contact of Catholic Social Services web submissions, call/direct to appropriate

department for assistance.

The individual must be of good moral character, dependable, and reliable.

The individual must possess a current/valid Pennsylvania driver's license and must have

access to an insured automobile while on duty.

Individual must provide complete details of any conviction records they may possess.

Individual must consent to random drug and alcohol testing.

The individual will attend VIRTUS training in accordance with Diocese of Scranton

policies.

The individual will maintain an awareness of the Mission Statement of Catholic Social

Services.
